As I was asked to post something about the atmosphere in Vienna right now, I chose this quite big ‘lamp’.
Ok, acutally it is a chandelier (Christmas lightning) that spans the ‘Graben’ square.

Joseph Kosuth, from the Zero & Not series, 1985
The quote used by Joseph Kosuth is a quote from Sigmund Freud’s book about the Unconscious (1920). It means: “the repetition compulsion that was meant to make treatment successful, is drawn quasily by the I, that wants to stick to the pleasure principle, to its side.”
Joseph Kosuth (born 1945 Toldedo/Ohio) is an important protagonist of the so-called ‘Concept Art’ and studied in the series ‘Zero & Not’ the relationship of art to philosophy.
Naked men seem to have become a trend in Vienna’s cultural activites quite recently …

Today I want to present you the new and very moving film of Michael Haneke ‘Amour‘. The film’s title keeps its promise and delivers so much more about social relations and challenges.
“Michael Haneke’s new film, a study of the effects of ageing and dementia on a blissful married couple, is intelligent film-making of the highest order.” (Peter Bradshaw, Guardian)

If you want to read an interview with this fabulous woman and/or an extract from her memoir check out this Guardian article: “Amazing Grace Coddington: inside the world of US Vogue’s creative director”.
If there was a colour I did not like at all, it was pink. And I thought that I already know everything about it. But then I discovered the photo series ‘Pink China’ by Pietro Baroni and my mind was blown.
And of course, it offers a lot to learn about China. Check it out at: Pink China
And last but not least, some information on the maestro:
Pietro Baroni (1977) is a photographer/artist born and raised in Italy, currently based in Milan. He won an Honorable Mention in the 2012 International Photography Awards (IPA), People Lifestyle Category, with the project “Milan Closets”. Pietro loves cinema of all kinds, regional cuisine, NBA, quotes of Federico Buffa and if he could live a different life he would trade it only with an extreme mountain climber: one who pushes his mental and physical limits and discovers.
