Nedra Chachoua is a young aspiring designer, who studied fashion design under Veronique Branquinho and Bernhard Willhelm at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.  Her collection “Musa paradisiaca” (S/S 2013) won the Rondo Vöslauer Fashion Award and the INDIE Magazine Award. Besides, she was among the 10 finalists of the Ringstraßen Galerien Awards 2013.

… of the Ringstraßen Galerien Award 2013 is ‘alba prat’. The label from Berlin convinced with clean cuts and a reduced colour palette.

The reform couturier Paul Poiret (1879 -1944) surely did not think of bondage heels, when he wrote this, but his thoughts fit the picture above perfectly.

‘It was in the name of Liberty that I proclaimed the fall of the corset and the adoption of the brassiere, which since then, has won the day. Yes, I freed the bust, but I shackled the legs.’

The ‘Ringstraßen-Galerien Designer Award’ celebrates its 10 year anniversary. It was founded to create a platform for emerging fashion designers and to raise attention for yet unknown designers. This year’s design motto was ‘Fresh fashion’.

At the gala on 17 04 2013 the winning outfits and selected designs from existing collections will be presented. The winner will receive € 5,000, a trophy designed by AND_i and a portrait in a lifestyle magazine.

Start of the event is at 8 pm in the ‘Wiener Ringstrasssen-Galerien’. Admission to the event is free.
