Herzmansky was one of the first department stores in Vienna. It was founded by August Herzmansky in 1863. The store was located on the Mariahilferstrasse 26-30/Stiftgasse 3 in the seventh district of Vienna. Since 1998 the buidling holds a Peek & Cloppenburg fashion store. Unfortunately most of the building was destroyed in a fire, only a small part was left undamaged and showcases the original fine decoration – as you can see above.

Vienna Art Week

Since eight years a new highlight:  Vienna Art Week 19 11 – 25 11 2012

This year’s motto is “Predicting Memories”. Exhibitions, lectures, artist talks and performances take place all over the city (Ehemaliges K. K. Telegrafenamt, 21er Haus, MUSA, Österreichisches Filmmuseum, Secession, Mumok, Belvedere etc.).

On Saturday, the 24th November 2012, from 12.00 to 5.00 p.m. more than 70 artists open their studios (Open Studio Day). In addition to guided tours through art galleries, selected fashion studios will open their doors for the very first ime (Departure fashion tour).
