LAZINESS. A DIFFICULT DISCIPLINE

A very good read on the history of laziness.
Not having to work was considered the perfect condition in the ancient world and in the Middle Ages at least not negative per se. But modern times brought about the belief in progress and the desire for change and therefore, laziness got condemned.
Today we are all super busy, not only when at work, but also in our leisure time. And we even have to explain ourselves, if we want to do just nothing in our leisure time. Just recently the idea of slowing down has begun to gain acceptance again, as more and more struggle with overwork and stress.
