Monument in the ‘Schweizergarten’
The ‘Schweizergarten’ (Swiss Garden) is a park in the third district of Vienna, that was opened on the 5th June 1906 as ‘Maria Josefa Park’ (Maria Josefa was a member of the imperial family). The park was designed in the style of an English landscape garden.
1920 the park was renamed into its actual name. This was out of gratitude for the generous assistance of Switzerland after the end of World War I.
